The difference a Doula can make
As your Doula I am there to support you physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and to advocate for you in your journey.
A Doula is a trained specialist
A Doula trains to be able to share with you all of the options you have, to talk you through possibilities, provide comfort measure and massage, and to encourage you in all of the emotional and physical demands of birth. To cheer with you, empathize with you and help you continue on in the challenging moments, the joyful moments and deeply personal moments.
I am here to support you in all aspects of birth and postpartum recovery. Doulas do not provide medical support but are there to guide you through labor and to help you build the birth team that supports your hopes and goals.
A Doula can meet you where you are
No matter the stage in your journey, no matter the choices you hope for, a Doula can be there for you in the ways you need.
I am here to support you whether in the hospital, home, or brith center. Whether your birth is medicated, unmedicated, induced, or cesarean, you deserve to be surrounded by love and support throughout a most spectacular and sacred moment in your life.
I am here to help you feel prepared and walk beside you as you labor through an unmedicated birth. I am also here to hold your hand and help you know every option you have as you go through an induction. You can lean on me as you receive peace and strength from getting an epidural. I will talk you through and support you with a cesarean birth. Every birth is beautiful and your decisions matter. I will be the supporting person beside you to help make sure your voice is heard and your birth journey remains yours.
This is your birth, your story, your journey. I am here to ensure you feel educated about all of the options in birth, supported in your decisions and loved every step of the way.
“Birth is not only about making babies. Birth is about making mothers — strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength.”
—Barbara Katz Rothman
